homemade sugar scrub
/The holidays can be stressful, exhausting and overwhelming. Being around family and friends constantly is amazing, but often times you forget to take moments for yourself. Self care is important all year round at all times, and comes in so many forms. It could be taking time to make yourself breakfast and read the paper in the morning. Walk around the block for 15 minutes during work. Do a face mask. Take a yoga class. It doesn't have to be luxurious, it can be small, simple things.
Something I love to do for myself is to whip up a homemade sugar scrub, take a hot shower, pop on a face mask, and catch up on my shows. Sugar scrubs are so easy and cheap to make, and you most likely have the ingredients on hand. If not, I think they're worth having because you can use the ingredients in so many other ways.
Below is the recipe for my Lavender Peppermint Sugar Scrub, it's easy, smells amazing and is super soothing. Lavender essential oil has so many benefits including relieving stress & pain, soothing skin and getting rid of nerves. It's a huge key to relaxation, I put it in my diffuser every night and I notice a difference in how I feel overall. Peppermint essential oil has a calming effect on the body and soothes digestive issues. Plus, the combination smells amazing. I always use coconut oil because it's so moisturizing for the skin, and it balances out the harshness of the coconut sugar. I hope you enjoy this recipe!
